what is the difference between msc biotech and microbiology.

MBA is good with either one. Biotech is focused on techniques of biotechnology. How to do lab tests, how to cross a peach with a football, that stuff.

Microbiology is an area of study that may or may not but usually will include biotech techniques in the curriculum.you just will see the biotechniques as tools for research rather than an end in themselves. Microbiology is a broad area..I had such an array of classes to choose from-for example-virology, algae, fungi, protozoans, tropical medicine microbiology, biochmistry of microorganisms (we used biotechniques in this one), senior survey of microbiology (more biotech techniques here too), medical microbiology, water microbiology, bacteriology (yes-study of bacteria), study of bioremediation (you will have to look this one up!)., or immunology.., plant microbiology, insect microbiology, ..there r many others.even food microbiology...it depends on ur school.

As a microbiologist u can collaborate with so many ofther departments---for example in medicine u can partner with & study cancer research, immunology, zoology, botany, water chemistry, biotechnology, & many more..

For jobs for biotech u can go to a biotech firm & same for microbiology. To me, biotech is a little phony. To me it is a bunch of techniques..which r useful...but in the science world if that is ur major u have to be careful or u may be branded a TECHNICIAN. It is fine if u want to be considered a technician, but if u want to be considered a scientist in the long run I might suggest u study microbiology...

In any case, in today is world there r plenty of jobs out there..Check out the CLS designation also...Certified Lab Scientist where they teach u clinical techniques after u have ur undergraduate.

Today, to be in charge of any study projects u pretty much need the PHD in science. The MBA is a good top out degree. Be happy.
